Bentolicious #030
I got up late this morning and could only manage to make some rice balls stuffed with minced beef, decorated with edamame and nori. Inside the box for today's quick & simple bento were carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, cherry tomato, and beef balls with sweetened cherries on the top. Nothing special really on this bento. I felt so tired last night and couldn't sleep very well. Next week the kids will start their first semester exam. And this week they will be busy reviewing each subject at school and at home. The kids seem so confidence though ... but being mom always the one who do the worry things :o) I hope they can pass the exam next week with good marks.

On your sleepy morning you manage a bento that I would love to make daily! I'm sure your kids will excel, but the mom's duty is always to worry, as we all do :)

@sherimiya : Thanks a lot Sheri for your very supportive comment. And I have to cut out my K-Drama hours at night hehehe ...

This is your bento on a busy day? I wish I can make as good as yours ^.^ I love how you cut the carrots BTW, I'll try that sometime in the future ^.^

I love the shape of those carrots! Good Luck to the youngins on their exams!

Sherimiya is absolutely right! This bento looks beautiful! I can not make such a great one if I am ready for it =) I love how you have cut out the carrots. And your riceballs are delicious looking.
Say, are the edamame raw or cooked? I have some in the freezer, but don't know how to use them right.

Your bento was detailed even you are not enough sleep.. your child were so lucky to have such a great mum..^_^

@Rachel Hei : Thanks a lot Rachel! You are also a great mum ... Love to look at your bento :o)

@Angi : Thanks a lot Angi! I really hope the kids will do their best next week :o)

@Just a MOM : Thanks a lot Lina! Sometimes when we just have limited time to prepare the bento, the inspiration come hahahaha ;o)

@Lil'chan : Thanks a lot Lil'chan! The edamame were cooked. Those are actually from the ready eat pack that I found from the fruit supermaket near home (they sell some veggies & organic veggies). So it cut out my time in the morning because I don't have to boil them :o)

Beautiful bento! I love those carrots, they look so delicate! I can't believe you did this even though you were so tired, you are such a great mom!

@Susan Yuen : Thanks Susan for your kind words. You are a great mom too!

Lia, i got a 'Happy Mama Blogger Award' for you, please feel free to pick it up at my blog, thanks..^_^

wow! I too particularly love the carrots. your kids are very lucky! : )

I love your idea of simple! Your bentos are to DIE for! They're wonderful!

The Mully's : Thanks a lot for your nice comment :o)

@Rachel Hei : Thanks a lot Rachel! I feel honored ... Muaach :o)

@Rach : Thanks a lot Rachel :o)

I love your bentos! Curious, how did you cut the carrots to look like delicate flowers? :)

@The Mully's : Thanks a lot! I use my flower shapes cookie cutter to make the flower shapes carrot first. And then I use my hole puncher from by bento tools to make those holes inside the flower carrot. If you don't have that tool, you can use straw to make the holes. But it will be helpful if you boil/steam the carrot first, so it's not to hard if you are using the straw :o)

I just found your blog, via FoodBuzz I think, but I can't remember. Anyway, hello from California! Love your tips and ideas and recipes. Thanks for sharing. I'm just back into packing lunches for my 15 year old. I don't do bento really, but gather lots of ideas to make a fun lunch for her.

@Ellen : Thank you for visiting my blog Ellen. Hope we can share some ides and recipes (^.^)
