Bentolicious #065
Today's simple snack box was made with cute characters Sabo Kappa and one little Marimosabo from San-X. Actually I was thinking to use pandan bread (color green) to make the characters but unfortunately I can't find one at the bakery last night. So, I was mixing edamame and rice again since I had to finish half pack of edamame before they turned ugly. Plus I need the green rice color for this bento.

SABO KAPPA is a green cactus water spirit who lives at the flower shop with many other cactus. Sabo Kappa's favorite are cucumbers & water and doesn't like the heat.

MARIMOSABO are the triplets cactus who love Sabo Kappa very much and love to go out together.

Inside the box : water crest & ham rolls, baby roma tomato, peeled corns, fried fish cakes, and shredded carrot. Sabo Kappa and Marimosabo were made of edamame rice balls. Mayonnaise was inside the small green bird container.

Sooo cute, Lia! Your rice balls are so smooth and perfectly round. Do you form by hand? Love the tiny Marimosabo, soo mini and cute! Have to remember to try this cute character with corn beak (?)
Another smile from your sweet bento, thank you!

Sabo Kappa and Marimosabo are so cute!!! Such a lovely bento too! :D

very sweet indeed. what did u use for the flower hat?

@sherimiya : Yes, for this one was hand molded. I used plastic wrap like Pikko's suggest to get smooth rice ball. It really worked! And I have this habit to mold the rice when the rice is still warm and then prepare the other things. Face decoration will be the last one I make. The beak was from egg sheet hehehe ... want to use corn but too much already in the food cup. Thanks a lot Sheri! Your comment always bring me smile (^.^)

@javapot : Thanks a lot Javapot! The flower hat was from colored egg sheet because run out the pink kamaboko :)

Such a lovely "Sabo Kappa". She looks sweet & pretty....

I don't know any of the San-X characters, learning from your post bit by bit... (^.^)

Lia, I love the bamboo cutlery! Where did you find it?

Cute bento too, if I ever manage to make one like this I don't think I'd want to eat it!!

@Vanessa : Thanks a lot Vanessa!

@arkonite_babe : I bought the cutlery from Daiso (100 Yen Japanese Store). Thanks a lot Arkonite for your comment :)

so adorable! I can never get enough of your cute creations :)

So darling! The happy characters in your pretty bento brought a smile to my heart, Lia! They really convey the joy of friendship, which shows your special talent! Thank you :)

You really are just so artistic! I love it! Great job, as always, Lia!

Marimosabo is so adorable! You always do an amazing job with bento :D

Lia I'm loving all these characters you've been doing. I didn't know so many existed.

@bentobird : You are so sweet bento friend! Thanks a lot Jenn :)

@Melanie : Thanks a lot Melanie for the nice comment!

Jenn : Thanks a lot Jenn!

@Angi : Thanks a lot Angi! I also don't know all of them because so many San-X characters :)

@Lil'chan : Thanks a lot Lil'chan!

super cute! BTW, what type of punch do you use for the small smiley face. The punch I have creates HUGE faces and I need something smaller. May I ask which one you use?

@96753girl : Thanks a lot for your comment! For the small smiley face, I was using mini puncher free from quail egg set cutters that I bought. Or you can use mini puncher from Carla Craft. They have the smiley face one too. Hope this can help :)

i have never heard of these san-x characters but they are very very cute, and i love the colorful variety of food in this box (especially the bright corn, in such a cute scalloped cup)!

@megan : Thanks a lot Megan!
