Bentolicious #125
Tomorrow will be the last day of the kids' school break. So soon, I will be back to bento again. Today, I post 2 bento that I made for my Guest Post at Ann's blog {PigPig's Corner}. Ann is one of the non-bento food blogger who always gives kind comments in this blog. I am happy that she gives me the opportunity to introduce bento in her blog. You can read my short Guest Post here. And if you want to add some of your experience which sometimes people around you are being skeptical about bento, please do share your thought in the comment box.
3 Wise Monkeys | First tier box : fresh berries, chicken karaage, stir fry ham and celery, pan fry corn cake, and lettuce. Second tier box : steamed rice decorated with 3 wise monkeys on the top. 3 wise monkeys were made of egg sheets, crab stick, nori and food picks.
Non-Cute Bento | First tier box : stir fry bean sprouts with anchovy, curry tofu, sunny side up, grape tomatoes, sauteed pork & cucumber with lemon grass, and lettuce. Second tier box : steamed rice decorated with flowers. Flowers were made from carrots, daikon, and green peas.

Love your touch of beauty in each box, Lia. Like you, sometimes I make a charaben & sometimes just have time for a flower. Both contain the most important ingredient: LOVE. ^_^

@sherimiya : Thanks a lot Sheri! Totally agree with you. Love is indeed an important ingredient ;)

love both charaben and non charaben bentos equally! like the wise monkeys, we too should see no evil, say no evil and hear no evil ! oh one more for the humans, think no evil too! ;D

@anna2003 : Thanks a lot Karen! Very wise of you :)

whether it is charaben or not, it is always lovely arrangement that you have, Lia. Yup, school days will start again on tomorrow :-D

@Journal Mommy Yenny : Thanks a lot Yen! Yah holiday almost finish. This week is a very short week, only 2 school days :)

Lia, you're my idol ;D All your bentos are a masterpiece to me :)

Love it love it love it!!!! ...

Darling bento and I love how yellow really makes the sweet contents "pop"!

Such cute monkeys! I really love the non-cute bento - it's so simple yet appealing. :)

oh Lia, great guest post !! Lovely bentos, the non charaben is as appealing as the little monkeys one. Very difficult to say which one I like the most because both are perfect in their own way!
aw.. school already? Hope you enjoyed your little holidays!

They both look so lovely - two different looks but equally charming and delicious looking. Very creative with the three monkeys though!

@Anncoo : Thanks a lot Ann! I love reading your super creative cooking and baking too :)

@Just a MOM : Thanks a lot Lin!

@bentobird : Thanks a lot Jenn! I learn a lot from your beautiful bento :)

@Kuusou : Thanks a lot Kuusou! Hope can post non charaben bento from time to time :)

@karaimame : Thanks a lot dear! Your comment always so encourage and sweet. Back to school, back to routine again :)

@notabrownbag : Thanks a lot Mils! Both of them are really fun to make :)

I like how you categorize the "No Cute Bento"! I wasn't a bento maker to start off with. My blog is about food and recipes. But somewhere down the line I found all of you...and started doing some bentos. Who would have thought I was able to make a transformer or a pikachu? thanks to all you bento bloggers who continuously showing the public how it's done. I am still not a great bento maker and only do it on occasion, but now I understand the work you put in for your little ones just to give them a smile. It's so worth it! :)

@Mrs. P : Thanks a lot Mrs. P! Hope we can keep sharing our idea for our bento and being inspired one another :)

Wow...great guest post, wel done, Lia. I love the cute monkeys. Both bentos are nutritious too.

Both the cute and non cute bentos looks really good to me! Love the second monkey especially! :D

@Emily Ng : Thanks a lot Emily! Very appreciate it :)

@Kids Dream Work : Thanks a lot Ai Ping! The second monkey looks like he surprised himself, perhaps he said something wrong hehehe ... :D

Hi, it is simply cheerful to see these wonderful bento here.

@TasteHongKong : Thanks a lot for your kind comment!

Lia, you are my super woman!! Both bentos make me drool. The Guess Post also well written.

The monkeys are playing Peek-A-Boo with me.... kekekek... Cute, super cute!!

@Vanessa : Thanks a lot Vanessa! Every mom is a super woman including you :)

Ah I wanna be your kid lol! The monkeys are so much fun to see.
Even your non cute bento is still cuuuuute! Maybe you cannot make any of ugly or non-cute bentos hehhe ;)

@babykins : Thanks a lot Izumi! I got so many ugly bento when just started to make bento ... believe me ... Lucky I didn't take the pics or will be nightmare LOL :D

Both bentos are gorgeous and yummy! :)

@Susan Yuen : Thanks a lot Susan for your kind comment :)

Back to school back to bento business again :D. Yeayyy!!! How happy and proud I am to know your guest post at pigpig's corner. You rock!!!! You're a truly bento ambassador *dari Indonesia lagih hehehehe*. I completely disagree if you call the second bento as non-cute bento, it is cute indeed with those lovely flowers. I think it's better to be called as a non-charaben :D

tee hee, these monkeys remind me of the expression "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" -- i bet they are up to some trouble! adorable, though, and the corn cakes look so yummy.

the other bento that you've called "non cute" - it's still cute lia! to me, cute doesn't always mean a character, it means pretty and fun little accents like your pea-center flowers and elegant curry tofu fan.

@tatabonita : Thanks a lot Tata for your generous comment! I think many people in Indonesia started bento making long before me such as you ... so oh no, bento ambassador will be too much for me hahaha :D

@megan : Thanks a lot Megan! I think the middle little monkey is the one in the trouble hehehe ... I am thinking to make a non-charaben bento for the kids from time to time :)
